Welcome to Speak Slower ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Speak Slower (the "App").

2.1 Audio Data

Microphone Input: The App accesses your device's microphone to analyze your speech pace in real time. Audio is processed on-device using digital signal processing (DSP) and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. The audio stream is analyzed and immediately discarded.

2.2 Speaker Profile Data

Voice Profile: If you use the optional speaker detection feature, the App creates a local voice profile (MFCC fingerprint) to distinguish your voice from others. This profile is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.

2.3 Automatically Collected Information

  • Usage Data: We collect anonymous usage data through Google Analytics (Firebase) to help us improve the App's performance and user experience. This data is not personally identifiable.
  • Purchase Information: If you make in-app purchases, RevenueCat may collect and process transaction data.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To Provide Real-Time Feedback: Your microphone input is processed solely for the purpose of calculating and displaying your speaking pace. No audio is retained after processing.
  • To Improve Our Services: We use aggregated, anonymous usage data to analyze app performance and user behavior to enhance our service.
  • For Payment Processing: Purchase information is used to process in-app transactions.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • No Audio Storage: Speak Slower does not record or store any audio. The microphone stream is processed in real time and immediately discarded.
  • Local Processing: All speech analysis is performed on-device using a DSP engine. No audio data is sent to any server.
  • Local Profile Data: Any speaker profile data is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data.
  • Third-Party Services: Data collected by Google Analytics (Firebase) and RevenueCat is stored on their respective secure servers according to their privacy policies.

5. Permissions

Speak Slower requires the following permissions:

  • Microphone: To capture audio for real-time speech pace analysis. Audio is processed on-device and never stored or transmitted.

6. Sharing of Your Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share anonymous, aggregated data with:

  • Google Analytics (Firebase) for app analytics
  • RevenueCat for processing in-app purchases
  • Ad networks for displaying advertisements

7. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can revoke microphone access at any time through your device settings.
  • You can delete any speaker profile data from within the App at any time.
  • You can opt out of analytics data collection through your device settings.
  • Uninstalling the App removes all App-specific data from your device.

8. Children's Privacy

Our App does not have age restrictions. However, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
