Are Instagram Reels worth growing?

Instagram Reels is the best pure discovery engine of the Meta surfaces, and it is quietly crippled by one thing: you cannot put a working link anywhere near it. If your goal is brand awareness that is fine. If your goal is clicks to a website or an app store, it is the weakest of the video platforms. This is one section of a larger piece; the full comparison table puts all nine channels side by side.

Instagram Reels find strangers but throttle your outbound links

Instagram is worth growing for one format and one job. Reels are a genuine discovery engine; everything else on Instagram mostly preaches to people who already follow you:

A phone taking a photo, an arrow, and the same photo being pasted on a computer

Use Camera to Clipboard to move phone photos to a desktop editor

A polished Reel takes one to three hours and the growth floor is three to five of them a week, and that is the real price of the only Instagram format that reaches strangers. Part of every one of those hours goes on shuttling pictures between the phone that shot them and the computer that edits them. Camera to Clipboard, one of my own apps, deletes that trip: a photo taken on the phone is on the computer clipboard straight away, ready to paste.

Conclusion: Instagram Reels win attention, not clicks
